Introducing Third Wave Philanthropy: Putting Values Into Action

At its core, philanthropy is about people: those who give, those who lead, and those who work every day to strengthen their communities. This belief shapes Third Wave Philanthropy, a new boutique consultancy advancing the nonprofit and philanthropic sector through thoughtful strategy, meaningful partnerships, and a deep commitment to impact.

As part of its introduction to the community, Third Wave Philanthropy is proud to partner with AFP Ottawa in support of Fundraising Day 2026, taking place May 20 at the Rogers Centre Ottawa. A cornerstone event for the sector, Fundraising Day brings together fundraisers, nonprofit leaders, and changemakers for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration.

Recognizing the vital role and unique challenges of small organizations, Third Wave Philanthropy is sponsoring free attendance for ten organizations. Eligible groups (with annual revenues under $1 million and teams of one to three fundraising staff) will be selected by random draw to receive complimentary tickets.

This initiative reflects a core belief: advancing philanthropy is not only about strategy and resources, but about investing in people. By expanding access to professional development, Third Wave Philanthropy aims to strengthen the sector from within, building skills, confidence, and connections that help organizations advance their missions.

“Supporting those who are doing the work, often with limited resources but extraordinary dedication, is one of the most meaningful ways we can advance the sector and contribute to lasting change,” says Holly Bair-Marshall, Founder and Principal of Third Wave Philanthropy.

This partnership is both an introduction and an invitation, an opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to meaningful, tangible impact from the outset.

Applications for sponsored tickets are now open. Small organizations are encouraged to apply and take part in a day designed to inform, connect, and inspire.
